ABOUT CMTM
CMTM specializes in the extraction and processing of critical minerals and metals. Our proprietary technology delivers minimal environmental impact, improved project economics and superior product quality.
At CMTM we have successfully separated the lanthanide series plus yttrium. We are able to produce individual, high purity, rare earth oxides from rock concentrate, monazite concentrate, mixed rare earth concentrate, recycled materials, phosphogypsum and phosacid streams.
CMTM is capable of decontaminating gypstacks of radionuclide contamination while retaining the phosphogypsum crystal structure and concurrently extracting rare earth elements and other metals. The decontaminated gypstacks can be used as aggregate in a variety of civil works projects. In addition to decontaminating gypstacks, we also have the ability to extract radionuclides, rare earth elements and other metals from the 30% phosphoric acid stream of the phosphate fertilizer production process.
THE CMTM TEAM
Craig Bryson, President and CEO
Mining Engineer with over 30 years of experience in the mining and minerals processing industry having worked at senior levels in gold, diamonds, platinum group metals, mineral sands, gypsum, phosphate, rare earth elements, lithium, polymetallic nodules, sea floor massive sulphides and aggregates. Craig has experience with both deep and shallow underground mining operations, open pit mining operations, dredging and marine operations.
Craig worked with USA Rare Earth in mine design and the extraction and refining of rare earth elements; with Steenkampskraal Holdings Ltd. at their monazite mine in South Africa; with Odyssey Marine Exploration at their sea floor critical minerals nodules in the Cook Islands; and recently with The Mosaic Company completing rare earth element extractions and separations from Mosaic's phosphgypsum and phosacid streams.
Craig sits on the mineral technical advisory board of a NASDAQ listed company and has acted as technical witness in successful international mineral rights litigation. He has worked in South Africa, Namibia, Mozambique, Sierra Leonne, Senegal, Ghana, UK, EU, USA, Canada and Mexico.
Membership: Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IOM3), Institute of Quarrying (IQ) UK.
Juan Illescas, Chief Technical Officer
Chemical Engineer with over 30 years of experience in the mining and minerals processing industry utilizing technologies such as solvent extraction, ion exchange resins and membranes to perform separation of metal ions in the copper, zinc, gold, rare earth and tech metals industries. He has managed the design, installation and management of laboratory testing systems, pilot plant testing and commercial scale installations.
Juan has developed a technology to separate lanthanides and yttrium into individual components and generate oxides at high purity levels.
Membership: American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), Society for Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration (SME).
Grant Colligan, Vice President Metallurgy
Grant has Master's Degrees in Metallurgical Engineering and Mineral Economics from the Colorado School of Mines. He has specific experience in rare earth bearing minerals including bastnaesite, monazite, allanite, xenotime, apatite, flourite, and zircon. Grant has developed multiple direct processes for the extraction of rare earth elements and other critical minerals. Phosphoric fertilizer processes - phosphogypsum radionuclide decontamination and rare earth recovery, phosphoric acid radionuclide decontamination including U₃O₈ production and rare earth recovery, and pyrometallurgical and hydrometallurgical processes for recycling metals.
Membership: Society for Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration (SME)
